Owners Jacquelyn Klassen and Sarah Valdizon are a mother-daughter team that, with joint design sensibilities, have brought together the effortless “Leuie” look and feel of the shop with an easy balance between their two ideals and European heritage.
The result is like walking through a garden alongside the ever-present long eared hare (lovingly called Leuie), with an iconic olive tree (a family signature)... rough ship lap for character, and accents of textural moulding work hanging over top an array of timeless and beautifully aged antique furnishings collected over time—all of which, lending to a quaint and cozy space that is approachable and comfortable to browse through.
Customers visiting will discover brands that have not only been designed in Europe, but also made in Europe. Brands that are not widely distributed through North America, and embody beautiful quality. Whether looking for a wonderful blanket for a new baby, or a special decor piece for a toddler's nursery, cozy everyday pants for a 10 year old boy, or that perfect dress for a very special occasion coming up. Some pieces are handmade, some hand finished, and all are made with care in Europe. The Leuie look and feel for curation may have one thinking that everything in the little shop is from one single brand, but there are in fact several within the store, lending to a feeling of ever-flowing refresh within the space.
